Join Doncaster Community Recycling Partnership (DCRP) at the launch event for thier new community grants scheme.
Doncaster Community Recycling Partnership Limited (DCRP) was founded by volunteers in 2001. Today DCRP employs 70 people and delivers a kerbside recycling collection scheme to 62,000 households across the eastern half of Doncaster Borough. A key aim of DCRP has been to turn waste management into local opportunities for jobs, training and community regeneration.
The introduction of this Local Community Grant Scheme underlines our commitment to the communities we serve. The scheme is to be launched at a presentation event on Monday 6th July 2009 at the Dunscroft Community Centre, St Lawrence Road, Dunscroft at 10:00am. All interested parties are invited to attend. Refreshments will be available on the day.
There is no minimum size of grant but the maximum amount of grant that can be awarded is £500. DCRP is particularly interested in supporting groups working with the vulnerable, aged or income disadvantaged in the locality. The key thrust of the scheme is to support local community/voluntary organisations operating within the communities served by DCRP whose activities clearly demonstrate community benefit. These areas include:
Armthorpe, Auckley, Austerfield, Barnby Dun, Bawtry, Bessacarr, Branton, Cantley, Clay Lane, Dunscroft, Dunsville, Edenthorpe, Finningley, Fishlake, Hatfield, Hatfield Woodhouse, Intake, Kirk Sandall, Lindholme, Moorends, Rossington, Stainforth, Sykehouse, Thorne, Wheatley, Wheatley Hills and the smaller communities surrounding these areas.
The closing date for applications is 12:00 noon on Friday 21st August. It is expected all decisions on all applications will be made no later than Friday 4th September. Successful applicants will be presented with cheques in September at a presentation event.
